Hudson's Building. It's been estimated that tens of thousands of residents gathered to watch this beloved jewel of the community implode in less than thirty seconds. A large cloud of dust and debris quickly shrouded the area and the remaining pile of rubble was measured to be 60 feet tall. The audience that gathered that afternoon cheered at the sight of the controlled demolition and remarked on the extreme volume of the destruction but within seconds they were engulfed in dark cloud of toxic debris. The Detroit Free Press remarked that the building, once a symbol of glamour for generations, was demolished "with a deafening roar that will echo in the hearts of Detroiters for decades."

Princess Dragon-Mom, an art collective and Actionist noise group, formed in 1993 to open for The Boredoms in Detroit and quickly started releasing noise and experimental tapes on their own imprint, Time Stereo. 1994's The Real Folk Blues, on Akifumi Nakajima's influential G.R.O.S.S. Tapes, was one of the first American harsh electronic noise albums released on a Japanese label. As the live performances became more elaborate, PD-M began performing and having work featured at Kunstraum Kreuzberg / Bethanien (Berlin), Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, Busan Biennale (South Korea), Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen (Rotterdam), Contemporary Arts Center (Cincinnati), Institute of Contemporary Arts (London) as well as many galleries and weird underground art spaces throughout the United States, Europe and Japan. Princess Dragon-Mom is probably best known for Noise Camp, an annual free outdoor festival in Detroit for 35 years featuring loud electronic noise, a cardboard bear, camp nurses, and a guy in a cardboard bush suit.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0659/4930/3006/files/rn-image_picker_lib_temp_4ffc69e7-ef28-4aaa-b560-b3e3ae721510.jpg?v=1769647205
